Filter Showerheads

Integrated shower head and filter in one unit — or filter cartridge that retrofits to an existing shower head. Targets residual chlorine, heavy metals, and sediment in the shower water stream. 03 · Technology

IONPOLIS filtration uses ion-exchange and mineral-ion mechanisms to target chlorine and dissolved impurities in tap water. Ion-exchange filtration works by replacing problematic dissolved ions in the water with benign counterparts — a well-established filtration chemistry used in water softening and point-of-use drinking water filters globally.

For the shower application, the primary target is free chlorine — the residual disinfectant that causes the characteristic pool-smell in shower steam and is associated with dry skin and scalp in heavy-chlorine water supplies. The filter cartridge is typically a media-blend filter combining KDF (kinetic degradation fluxion) or calcium sulfite alongside fine particulate media.
